A baker, a banker, a coach
Seems like a natural progression, right? CEO and Founder of The 262 Group, Kathy Ball-Toncic, is a perfect example that life never turns out quite the way we expect.
With a newly minted BA in languages, Kathy worked for a hot minute at Harvard and became quickly disengaged. She seized an opportunity and worked as a Chef for many years at the start of her career, then found her way to working on Wall Street, holding senior roles and leading global teams to drive revenue across Fortune 100 firms. Then 9/11 occurred. Kathy was inside the World Trade Center on that day and as you can imagine, her life completely changed.
After working with a coach soon after 9/11, she realized the parts of her job that inspired her related to helping her people find their "why" and supporting them as they navigated that path. She created The 262 Group to begin her work as a coach and inspirational leadership guide.
And what’s behind the name? After 9/11, Kathy began running marathons for charity and as she trained (20 mile practice runs provide a lot of time to think!), she realized how much marathons and leadership have in common. She has personally raised over $100,000 for charities along the way. Check out this article for an entire article about this concept.
Kathy brings more than 25 years of experience applying organizational learning and leadership skills as an executive coach and a senior leader. She has worked across multiple levels in some of the largest global organizations to design and deliver transformational programs. Collaborating with executives, her focus is on personal transformation, innovation and inclusion using an experiential, conscious and humanistic approach.
She leverages her own extensive experience from inside the corporate world to guide leaders toward achieving exceptional results and emotional mastery, both individually and organizationally. She challenges her clients to stretch ‘business as usual’ norms to increase their capacity as leaders and influencers. Her clients learn to recognize their own strengths and challenges and develop personal strategies to strengthen their leadership presence. Her belief in the importance of using both heart and sword has enabled her clients to maximize their own potential.
Kathy has a keen interest in volunteerism and sits on the Board of Directors for Title IX Girls, a non-profit organization and she has been an executive coach volunteer for the Social Innovation Forum. She was a “Woman of the Year Nominee” for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and helped raise money for charity while training for, and running, 10 marathons. An avid chef, she is also a world traveler and sports enthusiast.
